The school visit program at Parliament House examines the work of Parliament, teaching primary and secondary students how the Australian system of government works.

A visit can include 3 components:

  • A comprehensive guided tour with the Visitor Engagement team allows students to experience the House of Representatives and Senate chambers.

  • An immersive role-play program with the Parliamentary Education Office (PEO) explores the function, value and purpose of Australia’s democratic system of government.

  • A hospitality break includes a delicious refreshment and a chance to meet parliamentarians dependant on availability.
