National Zoo and Aquarium

Unlike any other zoo experience, visitors to the National Zoo & Aquarium are immersed into the life of the wild. Whether meeting friendly animals or observing natural behaviours in their wild counterparts, the zoo offers a unique opportunity to connect with the wonders of the natural world.

The Zoo's 200 species on display can be discovered independently by following our comprehensive Adventure Trail. Stop for lunch at one of our food outlets, or take advantage of the many green spaces and picnic areas available. For a true insight into the lives and personalities of our unique animals book a tailored tour or animal experience with one of our enthusiastic guides.

School Groups can meaningfully engage in the curriculum through one of our Discovery Learning Sessions. Delivered by our passionate eduation team, these 60 minute sessions include front row seats to animal enrichment activities and hands on reptile encounters set against the back drop of exploring the zoo trails.
