Questacon houses over 200 hands-on exhibits in eight themed galleries. Perfect for self-guided exploration, the exhibits encourage interaction and inspire questions as students discover the smarter way to have fun.

Daytime sessions are available in 15 minute entry times from 9am - 3pm.

Maximum of 110 Students with accompanying teachers/ adults, per session.  If you need to book multiple sessions for a School, there must be an hour gap between bookings. 

Primary school bookings allow a 1:10 free teacher to student ratio. Any teachers outside of this ratio will be charged the equivalent cost of a student.

Preschool groups will not be allocated a time to visit the Questacon Shop. If the group would like to visit the Questacon Shop please make a note on the booking.

Mini-Q is our gallery designed for 0 to 6 year olds. This gallery has a maximum capacity which cannot be booked by a school group. An option for groups wanting to access Mini-Q is to take smaller groups of around 5-10 children, into the gallery separately (subject to capacity).

This program is available for Social Groups. 

Social groups are for any combination of children and adults who do not fall under the normal category of a school group. This booking requires a minimum of 20 people. If the minimum number of people is not reached, it is considered more cost efficient to purchase general admission tickets.

We recommend allowing at least 2 hours for your visit including a visit to the Questacon Shop. Allocated shop times will be provided to groups at check-in. Questacon cannot guarantee and shop time requests. If the group does not require a time to visit the Questacon Shop please make a note in the booking.

This program is available during the ACT School Holidays.

For vacation care groups a shop time will be assigned to the group – Questacon cannot guarantee any shop time requests. If the group does not require a time to visit the shop, please make a note in the booking.

Vacation care bookings allow a 1:10 free teacher to student ratio. Any teachers outside of this ratio will be charged the equivalent cost of a student.

Experience Questacon's after-hours Q by Night program available in two sessions, 4:30pm-7pm and 7pm-9:30pm, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. This two-and-a-half-hour adventure also includes a visit to the Questacon Shop, with a large range of quality science-related products. 

Please note:

• Q by Night bookings require a minimum of 45 students for standard charging, otherwise additional charges apply.
• The minimum charge of 45 will apply to any bookings, this will include split groups where one of the bookings is below 45 – please split your group accordingly.
• Maximum number of students per group is 90, if your group is larger than 90 please book two sessions. 
• Primary school bookings allow a 1:10 free teacher to student ratio. Any teachers outside of this ratio will be charged the equivalent cost of a student.
